Pre-lit or unlit: which artificial tree is right for you?

It's one of the first decisions you'll make when choosing an artificial tree. Both have their place.
Pre-lit trees
The lights are already threaded through the branches, spaced evenly from top to bottom.
- Quick to set up: put it together, plug it in, done.
- No tangles: no untangling a box of lights every December.
- An even glow: the lights are placed by design, so there are no dark patches.
Choose warm white for a soft, candlelit look, or multi-colour for something more playful.
Unlit trees
- Total freedom: choose your own lights and change them whenever you like.
- Great for frosted and tinsel trees: they look beautiful even with no lights at all.
Our view
If you want an easy, beautiful tree with no fuss, go pre-lit. If you love styling and changing your look each year, go unlit.
